Abstract:By using participatory interviews and secondary data collection, we investigated the bamboo management pattern, farmers age and the current cultivation technology in Shangyang Town of Longquan City, Zhejiang Province in May 2016. The results showed that bamboo timber forest cultivation dominated in many management patterns with the management benefit averagely at 20 700 yuan/ha. In terms of the laborer age structure, 62.60% of farmers was more than 50 years old, indicating the serious shortage in labour. Forest farmers showed higher expectation and willingness to participate in new technology adoption and high-efficient management, among which 65.86% of farmers however acquired little technology for efficient bamboo forest management and 65.61% of them would like to adopt winter shoot mulching technology. At the end, we put forward the key technologies for efficient moso forest cultivation based on the investigation.
