Eco-cultural Value of Dendrocalamus sinicus and Its Brand Construction

Abstract:Dendrocalamus sinicus is an endemic species to Southwest Yunnan, China. It is known as the largest bamboo in the world, with the culm as high as more than 30m tall and as large as over 30 cm diameter. Cangyuan county is the original production area and the most concentrated distribution area of D. sinicus. The paper analyzes its eco-cultural value, and the urgency of its eco-culture protection and development. At the end, the countermeasures and measures to build the eco-culture brand of D. sinicus is put forward.
