Abstract:The effects of reclamation and shrub cutting on the growth and structure of Phyllostachys pubescens were experimented and tested in Huoshan County, Anhui Province. The 3-year-long monitoring results showed that the average DBH, DBH of 1- and 2-year-old bamboo, the ratio of 1- and 2-year-old bamboo, and the bamboo density in the reclaimed stand of Ph. pubescens were 9.88 cm, 9.96 cm, 44.30% and 2 918/ha, respectively, which increased by 3.67%, 5.29%, 8.45% and 450/ha compared with the control; the same indexes as above in the shrub cutting stand of Ph. pubescens were 9.82 cm, 10.67 cm, 27.26% and 3 293/ha, respectively, which increased by 3.81%, 6.17%, 23.29% and 475/ha compared with the control. The cultivation measures could facilitate the growth and the structure adjustment of Ph. pubescens stand.
