Abstract:The impacts of bamboo forest crown closure (0.6, 0.7, 0.8 and 0.9, respectively), species of bamboo fungus (D89 and D1 of Dictyophora indusiata) and bamboo forest types (monopodial and sympodial) on the growth and economic benefits of understorey bamboo fungus. The results showed that the bamboo forest crown closure has very significant impact on the growth of understorey bamboo fungus. When the crown closure reaches 0.7, the understory bamboo fungus grow best with the fungus production period as long as 2 months and the production amount at 41.0 kg/667 m2, and the net profit could amount to 9 120 yuan/667 m2. There is no obvious variation between the production amount and economic benefits of different species of bamboo fungus intercropped with bamboo forest, and the bamboo forest of different types has no significant impact on the bamboo fungus production and economic benefits. Thus, it is economically beneficial to intercrop bamboo fungus in bamboo forest, which could also reduce the environment pollution, increase the employment and promote the the multiple benefits such as sustainable bamboo forest management.
