Abstract：China's bamboo industry has developed rapidly, and with the bamboo consumption increasing by years, more and more bamboo waste has been produced. At present, the whole world is facing the double pressures from energy shortage and environmental protection. Therefore, it is necessary for us to develop biomass energy to achieve sustainable economic and social development. This paper summarizes the advantage of bamboo as the source of biomass materials, the existing problems arising from the conventional biomass power projects and the application of biomass power generation techniques, which could provide an efficient, advanced and portable model for distributed biomass heating and power cogeneration in the bamboo growing area and bamboo industry clustered area.
