Abstract：Bamboo industry is a globally recognized ecological and green industry, which has great values for economics, ecology, culture and society. Bamboo industry developed in China takes a world-leading level. Bamboo industry has become one of the four major modern forestry industries in China, and it is also one of the top ten green industries for bringing people wealth and one of the sunrise industries with comparative advantages among forestry-related industries. Accelerating the development of bamboo industry is of great significance to economy, ecology, culture and society, especially to the implementation of rural revitalization strategy. On the basis of literature review and data collection, this paper mainly focuses on the significance and the favorable conditions for vigorously developing the bamboo industry, points out the difficulties and challenges faced in the process of bamboo industry development in China, and puts forward the countermeasures of cultivating leading enterprises, buildingfamous and excellent bamboo products, innovating the development model of bamboo industry and the cooperation model of the processing and service industries in order to make bamboo industry into a pillar industry for rural revitalization by an all-out effort.
