Abstract:The seedlings of Dendrocalamopsis oldhami and Dendrocalamus brandisii are used for the experimental forest establishment in Nanning in order to study their growth. The results show that 0.5 years after afforestation, the survival rate of D. oldhami is 96.87%, and the new bamboos grow well, while the survival rate of D. brandisii is 50.63%. The culm number, ground diameter and height of new bamboos of two species are positively correlated with the basal diameter of mother bamboo; and the number, ground diameter and height of new bamboo in 0.5-1 year after afforestation are positively correlated with the basal diameter in 0-0.5 years after afforestation. Therefore, strengthening the management of bamboo afforestation and promoting the growth of bamboo forest at the early stage of afforestation are conducive to earlier growth of bamboo forest.
