Abstract:Chimonobambusa quadrangularis (Fenzi) is one of the rare bamboo species endemic to China, and its development and utilization prospects are broad. This paper studied the effects of different fertilization methods and stand densities on the quantity of bamboo shoots. The results showed that fertilization could significantly increase the quantity of shoots, and the organic fertilizer application had the best effect, which increased the yield of bamboo shoots by 56% compared with the control. The best fertilization scheme was to use the compound fertilizer with quick effect as the pilot fertilizer to ensure the production of the year, and then use the organic fertilizer which had the slow but long-lasting effect and also could improve soil temperature conditions as the long-acting fertilizer to ensure continuous production. The density of bamboo forest was an important factor affecting the shooting. The experiment results showed that when the culm density was 2 500 culm/ha, the size and the yield of the bamboo shoots would be obviously reduced. It was suggested that the suitable bamboo stock of Ch. quadrangularis (Fenzi) should be controlled at 1 500-2 000 culm/ha.
