Abstract：To better understand current state of bamboo research in Guizhou Province and better use the research results, the paper made a quantitative analysis of bamboo research literature in Guizhou Province from the perspective of literature analysis, which was expected to provide valuable references for bamboo research institutions and researchers. The authors got access to Chinese Journal Full-text Database (www.cnik.net) and Wanfang Database (www.wanfangdata.com.cn) for the literature and data using bibliometrics method to analyze the year of literature publication, literature categories and research institutions concerning bamboo research. The results showed that the academic papers published on journals dominated the literature on bamboo research, which were mainly published from 2007 to 2017, with a large quantity and better quality. The much discussed topic involved biology, material and processing utilization, forest cultivation, and disease and pest control. Few journals that published more bamboo research papers were core journals. Only 4 authors published more than 10 bamboo research papers as the first author. Research institutions, universities, and forestry authorities contributed the most papers on bamboo research.
