Abstract：Bamboo has a wide range of applications for its excellent mechanical property, which also has broad market prospects. Patent technologies play important roles in promoting industrial transformation and upgrading of bamboo industry. Studying and analyzing the development status of patents of global and China's bamboo industry can timely understand the directions and trends of development in the field of bamboo industry technology, which is helpful to guide the development of bamboo industry in China. As a large country with bamboo resources, the bamboo industry in China had developed rapidly in recent years, with an annual output value of more than 200 billion yuan, and the number of patent applications in bamboo industry has shown an increasing trend rapidly. In this paper, the retrieval of the related patents of bamboo industry in global and China was conducted, and the detailed analysis of the patent application status, regional distribution, technical research hotspot and important applicants were carried out, which would provide reference for the transformation, upgrading and further development of bamboo industry in China.
