Status and Role of Bamboo Winding Technology in National Economic Development

Abstract:The bamboo winding technology makes full use of the flexibility of bamboo timber to wind and make the bio-based composite with bamboo strips or filaments as the base. The pipelines and other products with curve surface take advantage of the high axial tensile strength of bamboo and achieve the stress defect distribution in structure to meet the engineering standards. These products are characterized by high performance-price ratio, low carbon, environmental protection, strong antiseismic, and excellent thermal insulation performance, and thus enjoy the significant advantage compared with the similar products. The bamboo winding technology has been identified as international leading technology with the total independent knowledge property, which is also the technology to stand for the people's livelihood and sustainable development in both China and the whole world. The application of bamboo winding technology is an effective way to make full use of bamboo resources, achieve target poverty alleviation and mitigate climate change, which brings great economic, ecologic, and environmental benefits. Bamboo winding composites industry enjoys the great advantage of the large amount of bamboo resources and unique technology and also has strong market competitiveness. This technology is a way to promote the bamboo industry forward industrialization, intelligentization and internationalization, and also plays an important role in promoting national economic development.
