Abstract：Long-standing bamboo culture has many in common with the tea culture, and bamboo timber has been widely applied in tea space for thousands of years. By analyzing the human emotional needs for the tea space and the emotional interaction between people and tea space, the paper started from the characteristics of bamboo timber to propose the suggestions at the three levels of modeling, texture and function, i. e. the emotion-based design of bamboo furniture used in tea space should advance with the times, consider the material characteristics and meet the individual needs, so as to make tea space more fit the expectations of consumers in new era and better integrated into people's modern life.
