Abstract:Due to the less attention to forest management, the insufficient management measures, Phyllostachys edulis forest are facing a series of problems such as the declining productivity and the poor growth. This paper studied the effects of different forest improvement measures on Ph. edulis forest growth and forest soil. The results showed that the appropriate thinning and stand structure adjustment, coupled with land reclamation, fertilization and weeding, could greatly improve the growth condition of Ph. edulis forest, promote its growth and improve forest productivity, and also significantly improve the forest soil conditions and increase soil fertility. Comparing with the transformation of low yield Ph. edulis forest to pure forest, keeping the mixed forest with certain amount of fir would achieve better stand growth. The results could provide references for sustainable management of low yield bamboo forest.
