A Study of Seed Quality Property of Cephalostachyum fuchsianum Gamble

Abstract：The quality characteristics of Cephalostachyum fuchsianum Gamble seeds were measured. The results showed that the C. fuchsianum Gamble seeds are nut-like caryopsis with hard and compact shell; the seed purity was 78. 7%, thousand seed weight was 709. 8 g, moisture content of seeds was 25. 4%; the germination rate and the germination potentiality of seeds with shell were 6. 3% and 2. 2%, respectively, while the germination rate and the germination potentiality of seeds without shell were 34. 5% and 12. 6%; the seed soundness was 98. 2% and the rate of disease and pest infection was 3. 3%. C. fuchsianum Gamble seedlings came out slowly with a low emerging rate.
