Abstract:Bamboos usually live in the areas where the climate is warm and humid, which are mainly distributed in the southern region of China. Since 1960-1979, a large number of planting bamboo in the northern region of China has been carried out, which has introduced some bamboo species with strong resistance in the region north to Yellow River. However, the bamboo species in the north region of China are still dull and hard to be cultivated into a continuous forest, etc. To enrich the ornamental bamboo species in the northern region of China, 13 species of bamboo from Shanghai, Suqian in Jiangsu and Zibo in Shandong have been introduced to the nursery managed by Shanxi Agricultural University. The results of the adaptability of introduced species indicated that Phyllostachys glauca, Ph. propiqua, Ph. acuta Chuet Chao, Indocalamus latifolius (Keng) McClure are well adapted to the condition of the new place, while Sasa fortun. Bambusa ventricosa McClure, B. multiplex var. riviereorum and Ph. aurea are not suitable for planting.
