Abstract：The traditional bamboo and rattan weaving process in Western Hunan Province has a long history, and the woven ornaments have a unique charm of simplicity and beauty. In order to meet the demand of the current market for specialty ornaments and integrate the traditional weaving process into modern life, this paper uses bamboo and rattan as the natural materials to integrate traditional weaving process into modern design ideas, and practise innovative design for tabletop ornaments and life space decorations, which endows the small handicrafts with the spirit of the times and the way of use beyond the tradition, and explores new ideas for the development of traditional bamboo and rattan weaving process in western Hunan Province.
