Calculation Method of Flexural Bearing Capacity of CLB Slabs

Abstract：In order to study and verify the calculation method of flexural capacity of cross laminated bamboo (CLB) slab, the maximum tensile stress of CLB slab is calculated using the flexural capacity calculation method of cross-laminated timber components, and the results are compared with those obtained from two groups of four point bending tests of CLB slab. The result shows that the error between the maximum stress of the CLB slab, which is calculated using the Code for the Design of Wood Structures, Gamma Method and K Method, and the actual test results is less than 10%, while the error is within 5% if only the Code for the Design of Wood Structures and K Method are used. It is suggested that the latter could be used as the calculation method for the flexural bearing capacity of CLB slabs.
