Abstract:Phyllostachys praecox shoot industry has been the pillar industry for the rural area of Lin'an District of Zhejiang Province as the shoot is the favorite food for the people in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces and also the source of incomes for local rural residents. During the Spring Festival of 2020, the unexpected eruption COVID-19 pandemic imposed the severe impact on the normal production and trade of Ph. praecox shoot, which has brought huge loss to shoot farmers. The paper analyzes the effects of COVID-19 on the shoot production, discusses the measures to address the effects, and hence proposes the suggestions on how to address the emergency events by the bamboo and bamboo shoot industry.
